8. Educational results

8.1 Learning results
On a regular basis we measure the learning results through tests that are included in our teaching methods. Twice a year we test the children for the areas literacy, spelling, reading and numeracy. This test is not connected to a teaching method. We use the test of Cito (Centraal Instituut voor Toets Ontwikkeling). With these results we can make a comparison with national results.
At Eglantier we do not test the children in group 8 according to the Final Cito test (Cito eind-toets).  We feel that this test has little added value to the information obtained from prior tests. In group 7 the children will take the Cito-entree test. This test is a general diagnostic test for literacy/reading, numeracy/mathematics and study skills.

The score of this test is presented in percentiles. The percentile points out which percentage of pupils has the same or a lower percentage of correct answers on a national scale. When we compare the results of our students to the national average percentile our students do better than average.
Should you be interested in the data of the Cito-entreetoets you can ask the location manager.
